Using the App
Swipe up on the screen to toss the coin. The flip strength and spin are determined by the speed and angle of your swipe. You can also tap the dedicated flip button if you prefer not to use gestures.
Yes. In flip mode, each outcome is determined by your device's cryptographically secure random number generator (the Web Crypto API, backed by the operating system's secure RNG). The coin animation is then choreographed to land on that result. This applies to both the flip button and swipe gestures — the outcome is genuinely unpredictable and suitable for real decisions.
Sandbox mode is separate. Outcomes emerge naturally from the physics simulation, where environmental factors such as surface angle and coin orientation can influence results. Because these conditions introduce subtle bias, sandbox outcomes are excluded from flip statistics to keep them clean.
Troubleshooting
Open the info menu and choose a lower graphics preset — this reduces the rendering load and usually resolves performance issues on older devices. You can also close other apps running in the background and restart Coin Flip Lab. If issues persist, restart your device.
Make sure your device's operating system is up to date. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If you've enabled crash reporting in your device or platform settings, anonymous crash data is automatically shared with your operating system or distribution platform to help identify and fix the issue.
Check your device's volume and silent switch. Coin Flip Lab uses your device's audio settings, so if your phone is muted or in silent mode, the app will be silent too.
